I know George was a very spiritual person and I've read that it dated back to the days they went to India. George was overwhelmed with all that was surrounding him: the music, the beliefs, the way of life. It all started there, and the rest... well, the rest is history, isn't it? George was born a Roman Catholic, with a family with deep Irish roots. During an American tour in 1965, his friend David Crosby (The Byrds) introduced him to Indian classical music and the work of sitar maestro Ravi Shankar. That was when George introduced the sitar to the pop world. He then decided that he wanted to embrace Hinduism, and he did. __ I think George was the most spiritual Beatle. John was very spiritual too, but I believe George had a different awareness of it. I think he gave the Beatles a mysterious edge, with all his beautiful songs and lyrics (aren't Here Comes The Sun and Something true masterpieces?). And I'm glad he did. I love George for all he was... and still is, in a way. His legacy lives on. And I'm counting on you Someplace Else members to keep it alive.

I think you're right, onolennon. If it hadn't been for the influence of Eastern Culture on George, lots of most remembered George's songs wouldn't be here *goes on panic * I think that it was a very decisive fact on the qualities of George's solo career and even on himself personally Thanks for the information!

I think that his religion and beliefs helped him keep out of drugs and such. It really helped him get through the rough times.
